Welcome to the Terms of Service (these "Terms") for Altera. These Terms govern your access to and use of our Services. Please read these Terms carefully, as they include important information about your legal rights.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Services, you are agreeing to these Terms. If you do not understand or agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent and warrant that you are an authorized representative with the authority to bind the entity to these Terms.

2. Who May Use the Services

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Services for full access across our suite and ecosystem. Some solutions are designed for learners ages 6–15; users in that age range may use those solutions only with parental guidance, supervision, or approval. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms (or have appropriate parental/guardian consent).

3. Use of Our Services

We hereby grant you permission to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use, provided that you comply with these Terms. Your access and use of the Services may be interrupted from time to time for various reasons, including maintenance, updates, or other actions that we may elect to take in our sole discretion.

4. Restrictions and Responsibilities

You may not do any of the following in connection with your use of the Services:

  • Modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Services except as expressly permitted
  • Use any automated means to access the Services or collect information from the Services
  • Access or use the Services in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the Services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems
  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

5. Intellectual Property

The Services, including their "look and feel" and all content, are protected under copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We and our licensors own all right, title, and interest in the Services. All trademarks, logos, and service marks displayed on the Services are the property of their respective owners.

6. Third-Party Services

The Services may display, include, or make available content from third parties or provide links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content, accuracy, or availability of such third-party materials and do not warrant or endorse any third-party materials or services.

7. Disclaimers

Your access to and use of the Services are at your own risk. The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, we disclaim all warranties and conditions, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Altera and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis. You and Altera agree to waive the right to trial by jury or to participate in a class action. You may opt out of the arbitration provisions by sending written notice within thirty (30) days of first agreeing to these Terms.

10. Updates to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you. Your continued access or use of the Services after the modifications have become effective will be deemed your acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

If you breach any provision of these Terms, all licenses granted by Altera will terminate automatically. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for any reason.

12. Miscellaneous

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Altera regarding the Services. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
